they are eating my green tom and leaving them to rot
after they take a sting the insects and flies move in and destroy the tom


Most lizards eat bugs. And, it's bugs that eat the tomatoes. Markedly, the horned tomato worm, which is about 4 inches long and a half inch thick. A handful of these can destroy a whole tomato crop in a few days.

A great tomato pest control is sevin dust, which you can get at any home improvement store or nursery. It doesn't get to into and contaminate the fruit or the plant, although it should be washed off well prior to eating the tomatoes.

when do i pick home grown tomatoes?

have 2 tom plants. one has 3 fully grown red tomatoes on it. then there are about 100 green tomatoes, cherry largeness between the two plants. there are still some flowers on there 2. how do i stop the plant getting any bigger aqnd producing more toms?
